Free Software

TUCOWS home-page. TUCOWS stands for The Ultimate Collection Of Winsock Software. The world's best collection of Internet and general software. TUCOWS is your place on the Web to access the latest and greatest Windows 95/98, Windows NT, Windows 3.1 and Macintosh software, performance rated and checked for viruses. To ensure faster and more reliable downloads, choose a site within the continent or region closest to you: Africa, Asia, Australia, Canada, Caribbean, Europe, Mexico, South America, United States.

NetScape home-page. NetScape Navigator is the best Internet browser available, and my favorite. Choose the NetScape Communicator for an integrated web-browser (Navigator), email and newsgroups clients! You can go directly to the download page. These excellent products are free for non-business and personal use.

CuteFTP home-page. CuteFTP is a strong Windows-based FTP client, that allows users to utilize the capabilities of FTP without having to know all the details of the protocol itself. Options and features included: drag-n-drop interface, bookmarks, auto rename scheme, queued downloading & uploading, resume aborted downloads & uploads, compare directories, name filters, force case when uploading, keep alive command to maintain server connection, and many more. A screen-shot of version 2.5 is available. Program is shareware, download it here.

mIRC home-page. mIRC is the best IRC client available. It has a friendly interface, but don't let this mislead you - mIRC is a strong and powerful program. As far as I'm concerned, there is no other IRC client! Written by Khaled Mardam-Bey (email). Program is shareware, download it here.

WinAMP home-page. WinAMP is my favorite program to play MPEG layer 3 (MP3) sound files. You can scroll back and fore, random-play, create play-lists, has an internal equalizer, and whatever you want... I believe this is the most developed program of its kind. Used to be freeware (up to v1.40), and now it's shareware (actually, I don't see the difference). You can go directly to the download page. I might be paranoid, but it seems it is getting "heavier" each version...

WinZip home-page. WinZip is the Windows interface for the well-known ZIP file compressor. Pretty simple to use, and fast as usual. Why only 4 stars? Call me old-fashion, but I prefer the command line old & good PKZIP...

AcdSee home-page. AcdSee is the fastest and easiest program to show pictures. It supports most of the known picture formats (including animated GIFs and JPGs). Explorer-like interface where the selected picture is minimized in a corner of the screen. Full-screen view supported, zoom-in and zoom-out, slide-show mode, and more options and features! Free Internet Services

Free Stamp home-page. Free Stamp offers real (POP) e-mail accounts for free. Unlike other free e-mail services on the net, with Free Stamp you can receive rich text e-mail (with color photos and text effects), and file attachments (up to 2 MB) using MIME or UUencode, spell check your messages, and even use PGP for secure e-mail. You can use any e-mail program to check your mail including Eudora, Netscape, and many more. Free Stamp is fast and simple. You can chose your own lifetime e-mail address, which will stay with you even when you change Internet service providers. Free Stamp is completely free for personal, business, and government use. NetForward home-page. If you're changing your ISP frequently, or just want to have an email address which is easier to remember, NetForward is your answer. It gives you a virtual email address, which will forward every email sent to, to your original email address. If you change your ISP and your email changes with it, just update it at NetForward, and your email will be always forwarded to the correct address. You can sign-up (secured form, insecured form), or if you're already a member, go to the Account Area, where you can change your info and more.

Salvatore Meschini's home-page includes various subjects: who is Salvatore Meschini, the Computer Underground page (which includes some hacking tutorials), the Linux page (with Linux links), and the music page (which includes lots of midis and some lyrics).
